Twenty-six four person groups participated in the annual event. Each group was representing different companies and institutions from the Grand Falls Region. The tee off was at 10 a.m.

At the end of the afternoon, under heavy showers, the name of the four golfers were drawn to have a chance to participate for the wining prize of $1 million “Hole in one” The lucky persons were: Rivald Roy of Sainte-Anne, Pierre Cyr of Grand Falls, Marco Gagnon, of Grand Falls and Scott Adams of Saint-Leonard. Hole # 9, with 333 yards, was the center of attention in front of a crowd holding there breath.

At 5 p.m.., each lucky player had one chance of their life time, as a golfer, to instantly win one million dollars.

Perhaps those little drops of rain deflected their golf ball from the ninth hole… Anyhow, with all the circumstances, the four golfers have lived quite an experience in their life. They had a hole worth one million dollar at 333 yards away from them. It will take time to unveil their true version of what happen during that stressful moment.

With all the emotion and turbulant weather, none of the big winning prizes were won. At the end of the tournament, there was the “chip-in” contest where all the players had a chance to win a 32 inch Plasma Television HD LCD-TV, sponsored by Wal-Mart. It appeared by some witnesses, that the person, who has won the plasma television, had the help from lightning… Congratulations, Mike Allen, who is the MP for Tobique-Mactaquac.
