Silver medalist: Brittany Rioux has continued her winning ways, earning a silver medal at the NB Spring Skate 2008 held in Moncton recently. The young skater will train with World Champion Jeffrey Buttle in a May 10-11 clinic.

Brittany Rioux, the daughter of Yvano and Michelle Rioux of Grand Falls, recently competed in NB Spring Skate 2008 in Moncton, and won silver in short, long and overall performances.

The invitational meet featured skaters from New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

With the ice out of local arenas, Rioux travels to Moncton and Fredericton for regular skating practices, and will visit Presque Isle in June when that facility installs ice for a two-week period.

"She is going to a clinic in Dieppe with World Champion Jeffrey Buttle on May 10 and 11," mom Michelle said.

This summer Brittany will be off to Toronto for a month at an intensive summer figure skating camp.

"I am going to have a very busy summer," she commented.
