Saddle club hosting show on Saturday

Local equestrians will saddle up and head back to school next week. The annual riding clinic will be held at the Valley Horse and Saddle Club grounds in Bairdsville from July 14 to 18. The club's annual show will be held on the weekend.
While the grounds have already been a busy place this spring and early summer, the clinic and show mark the height of the riding season for local horse enthusiasts. The grounds become a bustling little community with campers, trailers and tents set up throughout the site. The club's horse stalls will be home to the four-legged participants for the week.
Instruction at the clinic will be provided by Helen Smith and Pat Greer. There will be classes for advanced and experienced riders as well as beginners and novices. Children make up a large number of the clinic participants.
In addition to mounted instruction, clinic participants also learn about horse care. On Wednesday, July 16, there will be a silent auction from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the club grounds and everyone is encouraged to support this fundraiser.
On Saturday, July 19, there will be a schooling horse show on the club grounds. The show will feature Western and English classes for small fry, youth and adults.
A canteen will operate on the grounds throughout the week. The public is encouraged to come and watch the events.
