Victoria County SPCA pets of the week

A busy family of puppies are among the Pets of the Week at the Victoria County SPCA animal shelter in Arthurette. A young neutered male cat is also one of the featured pets looking for a new home.
The puppies are several weeks old and are of mixed breed. They will probably grow to be medium-sized dogs. There are both male and female puppies available in black, brown, tan and combinations of both. The puppies have received their initial vaccinations and are ready to go home to new families.
The cat is an affectionate young adult male who has been neutered. He has attractive gray and white markings and likes to be stroked and talked to. This calm and cheerful cat needs only his vaccinations to bring his health care up to date.
The SPCA will hold its annual giant yard sale on July 17, 18 and 19 at the former Company and Friends Restaurant building on Fraser Street in Plaster Rock. The location is easily accessible via Fraser Street or the truck bypass. On Thursday and Friday, the sale will run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, July 19, the sale will operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A huge variety of items are available and proceeds will go towards the cost of winter heat at the animal shelter. Good quality yard sale items will be accepted at the sale site throughout the three days. Supporters can also drop off their refundable beverage containers while at the sale. Another sale will probably be held later in the summer.
The Grand Falls Vet Clinic is selling reusable shopping bags at a cost of $5 with $1 from each sale going to the Victoria County SPCA. The SPCA applauds this supportive project.
Needs at the shelter include good quality dog chew toys, canned cat food and general cleaning products. Toilet tissue, Kleenex and paper towels are also required.
The Victoria County SPCA can be contacted at 356-1117 or 2238 Route 109, Arthurette, NB, E7H 4C2.
