Opportunities New Brunswick will give them up to $350,000 to hire 43 new staff by 2025, according to a news release from the province. It estimates that will add up to $7.9 million in provincial GDP.

Kyndryl provides “hybrid cloud solutions … security, resiliency, data and artificial intelligence services,” the news release said.

It also has a “long-standing partnership” with Florenceville-Bristol giant McCain Foods.

“McCain has a large global digital and technology centre in Florenceville-Bristol where we drive tech innovation to support our global business,” said Manoj Kumbhat, chief technology and information officer at McCain Foods.

“Access to this talent for McCain in the area will further strengthen our partnership, and it is exciting to know that a number of these positions will be based in Kyndryl’s office in Florenceville-Bristol.”

Kyndryl Canada president Farhaz Thobani said the company is excited to focus on growing local tech talent by partnering with Opportunities NB.

“We are leveraging the growing and diverse tech labour force in New Brunswick and its hotbed of cybersecurity talent to help organizations modernize, transform and grow,” he said in a statement.

“We are proud to contribute to the province becoming a world-renowned information technology hub, while advancing a dynamic and inclusive digital future in the region.”

According to the release, the company plans to hire a mix of new graduates and professionals for both remote and on-site jobs.

“New Brunswick is home to a growing tech ecosystem made up of industry leaders supporting global innovation,” Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister Greg Turner said in the release.

“Our government is proud to attract investment from global technology brands like Kyndryl that are committed to growing in New Brunswick and dedicated to expanding our province’s tech labour force.”

While the release notes “Hiring has begun and employment opportunities are available on the company’s website,” as of Wednesday there was only one job listed for New Brunswick – an IT Helpdesk Associate job in Florenceville-Bristol.

In an email, Kyndryl Canada spokesperson JoAnne Hayes said most of the jobs will be remote – with applications restricted to New Brunswick residents only – and the rest in Florenceville-Bristol.
