Once a Tobiquer, Always a Tobiquer!

Letters to the editor

A4

Born and raised on the Tobique , a thing of the past

I always thought that this saying would last

Raised on the Tobique is now all you can say

Being born here seems, well it's had it's day.

Born on the Tobique this will come to an end

Cause they're closing the hospital, we're losing a friend

They are closing the doors, they are shutting it down

What s going to happen to the people in town?

I lived on the Tobique for a good many years

Closing the hospital has brought me to tears

Though I don't live there, for I moved away

My parents still live there, the hospital should stay!

A new hospital they say would be better for all

They are saying What! Well they have the gall!

Taking our health care we must say NO WAY

We sure need our health care and here it must stay.

The new one they say will be just down the road

It will create new jobs, quite a few I am told

But what of the many who's job is no more

New jobs verses old jobs, who's keeping score!!

Bright new and shiny the government will be proud

Better health care for all and they are saying it loud!

But the new hospital will be a 2 hour drive!

Will the new one be worth it if one persons die???
