Sounds Right: On Thursday, September 18 from 6-8 p.m. the Perth-Andover Public Library will host a FREE session for parents of young children (3-5 years) which will provide information on normal speech development/pronunciation for children ages 3-5 years.

Topics of discussion include when and how children learn sounds, ways to help them speak more clearly and be more easily understood. A follow-up "play and practice" session with parents AND children is available for interested families. This program is presented by members of Talk With Me. Please phone 1-866-423-8800 to register or for further information.

Red Cross Babysitter's Course: we invite you to register for a one day course on Saturday, September 27 from 9-5. The cost is $35 per participant. A Minimum of 15 registered and prepaid participants are required by September 13 to secure the course or to allow for rescheduling. Lunch will be provided. Please bring a doll and a pen. Call 273-2843 or drop in to register (note: payment must be received by Saturday, September 13).

Story Time: All preschoolers interested in a weekly program that includes stories, songs, games, crafts and laughs are invited to the library on Fridays at 10:30 in the morning! Remember, an adult must accompany children. Welcome Back on September 12! We will read the story Clap Your Hands by Lorinda Bryan Cauley. We will learn about numbers, letters, animals and science as we explore the world of stories. Our creature is the alligator, our number is 1, and our letter is A. We will use different sized containers to see what holds the most water - you might get wet, so come prepared! Let's not forget about a craft - we will decorate crayons to put up on the wall! We will end the hour with a game of Freeze Dance!
