Julia Ryhno, a Grand Falls student that is home-schooled, created the winning design for the 2008 t-shirts. The participant in the "Tattoo Our Moose" design contest submitted her rendition of the famous Canadian schooner Bluenose sailing on a rolling ocean.

"I congratulate you on achieving provincial distinction. All of us within New Brunswick's heritage community appreciate your contribution," stated Wayne Burley, director of the Heritage branch for Wellness Culture and Sport in a congratulatory letter.

Julia's winning design was penned after researching objects that reflected Canada's heritage.

The Heritage Fair program is a national education project developed to increase awareness and interest in Canadian history. In New Brunswick, the program is an initiative of the Heritage Branch of the Department of Wellness, Culture and Sport.
