Winning 6-49 ticket bought in Woodstock

A Corner Brook man was a little richer last week after learning he held a winning Lotto 6-49 ticket.

Michael Fox, originally of Woodstock, purchased the ticket at the Connell Street Mainway on Saturday. He found out Sunday he’d won.

“We knew there was a winner from Woodstock,” Fox said. “We just didn’t know who.”

Fox’s ticket was worth $68,261.

“That’s the reason you play the game with the chance of winning something.”

Fox said the winnings will probably go towards some debt restructuring.

The winning ticket matched five of six numbers plus the bonus number in the Sept. 27 draw. The Woodstock ticket was one of nine tickets in Canada worth $68,000 on Saturday, and the only one sold in Atlantic Canada.

The winning numbers are 11-19- 29-33-44-46 and the bonus number was 34.
