HAMILTON, Ont. - Premier Dalton McGuinty says he's not ruling out any options when it comes to the fate of the provincial safety authority that inspects propane facilities in Ontario.

The New Democrats have been calling on McGuinty to dismantle the arm's-length agency and bring it back under government control.

The calls have been growing louder since last week's massive propane explosion and fire in north Toronto, which forced thousands of nearby residents to flee their homes.

The Technical Standards and Safety Authority says an inspection of all propane facilities with similar storage capacities in the province will be completed by the end of the week.

Consumer Services Minister Harinder Takhar demanded the inspections in the wake of the massive Aug. 10 blast at Sunrise Propane.

The TSSA plan released late Tuesday says non-compliant facilities which are deemed to be a hazard will be shut down immediately.
