One dead, two injured in early morning Victoria shooting

VICTORIA - One person is dead and two others have been injured after an early morning shooting near a nightclub in Victoria.

Police were called to the scene after reports of shots being fired around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday. Police have not released the identities of the victims but say they were in their 20s.

Police say one of the victims was found dead at the scene. The other two were taken to hospital, where one underwent emergency surgery and is currently in critical condition.

The third victim is said to be in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say three people were detained near the scene. One has since been released while the other two remain in police custody.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
