Dear editor,

I sincerely wish to thank the following groups which provided all kinds of resources in order to help us during the search for finding the body of Shannon Bernard from Grand Falls.

All fire departments, police forces, members of the ambulance, the John Caldwell School personnel, Canadian Customs, NB Power, Reverend Lorne Freake, and the rescue team from Bangor, Maine.

A special thanks to the public for their support and their generosity in such difficult moments, and to the mayor, Marcel Deschênes, the municipal council for their support and encouragement as well as Fire Chief Charles Kavanaugh who helped me a lot during this rescue operation.

I don't want to conclude without mentioning the appreciation we have for our reporters who informed the public by broadcasting the news which allowed us to receive additional resources from New Brunswick and the State of Maine.

Jean-Réal Michaud,

Chief of Police,

Grand Falls, NB
