Several charges

Appearing in Grand Falls provincial court, Patrick Tatlock, 44, was charged with operating an uninsured vehicle on March 14 in Plaster Rock; operating a motor vehicle with a blood/alcohol concentration exceeding 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood; operating a motor vehicle while his ability to do so was impaired by alcohol; wilfully resisting RCMP Constable Joel Arsenault engaged in the execution of his duty; and operating a motor vehicle in Canada while he was disqualified from doing so.

Tatlock will enter his pleas on these matters on July 15.

Plea adjourned

Maurice Bert Bérubé, 46, will enter his pleas on July 15 to charges of operating a motor vehicle when his alcohol concentration exceeded 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood, operating a motor vehicle while his ability to do so was impaired by alcohol and committing a breach of his probation whereby he failed to abstain from consuming or possessing alcoholic beverages and non-prescribed drugs.

Trial in November

Nelson St. Onge, 37, whose trial was to be held on June 25 in Grand Falls provincial court, was granted his request that it be adjourned until Nov. 5-7 instead. St. Onge, who is charged with stealing wood, property of Acadian Timber, of a value exceeding $5,000, between January 15 and March 16, 2007 in Oxbow, was told this would be the last adjournment granted by the court.

Unsafe vehicle

Wayne Clifford Lockhart, 61, pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving an unsafe vehicle on April 2 in Grand Falls. His trial will be held on Oct. 27.

Six-month peace bond

Terri Ann Foster, 38, admitted the allegation made by Amy Moulton who feared that Foster would cause her personal injury or damage her property on April 11 at Tobique First Nation.

"The allegation stemmed from an incident between both women," stated Crown prosecutor Charles Couturier.

Foster agreed to a six-month peace bond condition that she keep the peace and be of good behaviour toward Moulton.

Death threat

Paula Sue Jensen, 25, pleaded not guilty to a charge of uttering a threat to cause death to Stephen Bowmaster on March 10 at Plaster Rock. Her trial will be held on Nov. 20.

Plea adjourned

Derrick Leclerc, 20, will enter his plea on July 15 to a charge of committing public mischief, with intent to mislead, by causing RCMP Constables Shanon Simon and Joel Arsenault to enter into an investigation by making a false statement that accused Crystal Clowes of having committed an offence of assault on Stiles.

November trial

Christopher Parish, 18, will stand trial on Nov. 21 on charges of having the care and control of a motor vehicle on March 15 at New Denmark, while having consumed alcohol in such a quantity that the concentration thereof in his blood exceeded 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood and with having the care and control of a motor vehicle while his ability to do so was impaired by alcohol or a drug.

Assault

Andy Lee Stiles, 21, pleaded guilty to assaulting his wife on April 1 in Blue Bell. A second charge of uttering a threat to cause her bodily harm was withdrawn by the Crown following his guilty plea. A pre-sentence report and a victim impact statement will be prepared prior to Stiles' sentencing on August 5.

Stole money, credit card

Appearing before Grand Falls provincial court judge Georges Pérusse on June 24, Scott Clavette, 18, pleaded guilty to charges of stealing $400 in American funds from Dorita Pelletier as well as a VISA credit card, property of Erickson Badio on Feb. 8 in Grand Falls. Clavette also pleaded guilty to committing a breach of his probation whereby he failed to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

"Clavette and another invidivual were seen loitering near Pelletier's bedroom. Clavette was later seen with cash," stated Crown prosecutor Charles Couturier. "He kept the money and threw the credit card off the Ron Turcotte bridge. He later apologized to the victims."

Judge Pérusse sentenced Clavette to serve 60 days in provincial jail. He was also placed on two-years' supervised probation during which he must keep the peace, be of good behaviour and pay $400 in restitution to the court for the benefit of the victim before June 30, 2009.

Stole merchandise

Bernny Parent, 30, will enter his pleas on July 15 to charges of stealing merchandise, property of Wal-Mart, on Jan. 5 and with committing a breach of his probation by failing to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

Two charges

Luc Rossignol, 22, pleaded not guilty to charges of uttering a threat to cause death to Yves Levesque on April 21 in Grand Falls and to committing a breach of a recognizance by failing to abstain from initiating any contact with Lisa Marquis or from going at her residence except to visit with the kids. His trial will be held on Nov. 13.

Assault charge

Marshall Wright, 35, will stand trial on Nov. 21 after pleading guilty to a charge of committing an assault on May 7 at California Settlement.

Death threat

Stéphane Rossignol, 33, will enter his plea on July 15 to a charge of uttering a threat to Vicky Ouellette on June 20 in St. André to cause her death.

Until then, Rossignol has been released from custody but must respect the following conditions: attend court when required; keep the peace and be of good behaviour; abstain from consuming alcoholic beverages and non-prescribed drugs; abstain from possessing any weapons, ammunition and explosives; remain within the jurisdiction of New Brunswick; provide a fixed address, a telephone number and advise the court of any change.

He is also prohibited from communicating directly or indirectly with Ouellette, or going to the offices of the Social Development Department in Grand Falls and Edmundston and must keep the peace and be of good behaviour towards its employees.

Has anyone noticed that almost everyone above was ALREADY on probation for doing stupid things. Why don't we just tell them in the first place that we're going to put them in jail in a year or so. Obviously telling them not to utter death threats, not drink and drive, etc, doesn't quite cut it!

i heard robert philips a convicted sex offender is trying to get out of being in jail and put on house arrest..... if that happens, the justice system goes out the window
